I really liked the website used in KB's Techno lesson last week, and will try it out myself.
Trace, Fran, maybe Luke and myself are off for some professional development at Leichardt on Saturday re iPods, looking forward to hopefully hearing more ideas.

Hi Coleen, I followed up the ipod order today & they should come by the end of the week. I'm trying to spread over a couple of groups now...but my main project takes in the use of ipods as a means to promoting reading for reluctant readers. I think I can branch into your group with this.
Have you thought about your main focus for these activities? Is your focus going to be the encouragement of reading using technology as an enabler? Is it to focus on modeling effective reading aloud to assist beginning readers in their journey? Is it simply to focus on encouraging boys literacy skills by using ICT?? It would be beneficial to get together to chat about what we want as our main focus. Maybe the PD on Saturday will give some ideas..

What a great intiative to tap into the PD on Ipods! It seems one of the challenges for some of our students is their exposure to good models of language before we get them. I think the ipods may be a tool to increase their exposure to good literature, good models... and provide a springboard for them to enjoy literacy! Looking forward to hearing about the inservice on the blog or maybe in PERSON!
